A new survey has found wide generational differences in socialization patterns of churchgoers as most Americans reject the idea that the church has become irrelevant.

TheBarnaGroupreleasedaStateoftheChurchreportinconjunctionwithGlooonMarch13.Thedataincludedinthereportisbasedoninterviewsconductedwith1,532adultsintheU.S.betweenFeb.4-26.
Onefindingfromthesurveyrevealedthelevelofsocialinteractionchurchgoersparticipateinwhenattendingservices.Amajorityofthosesurveyed(57%)saidtheytalkedtoclergybefore,duringorafterservices.Thatnumberrisesto61%amongmillennialswhiledroppingto57%amongGenXers.Justoverone-half(55%)ofbabyboomerssaidtheytalktoapastorwhenvisitingchurch,whileone-half(50%)ofGenZerssaidthesame.
